From afar blogging might seem easy, but it isn’t. It is as complexe, time consuming and as tricky as any other activity or job. When I started, I had to learn everything by myself, and then along the way I met some pears. We would talk, exchange, give each others tricks, tips and reference for our niche.

Amidst everything I have learned up to these day, there are a few I wish I knew when I first started this blog. Heck! I wish I knew them, the first time I even thought about blogging (2009) and never followed through because I  thought nobody would understand. Had I know them, I would have started blogging earlier. So today, I want you to know them.

This first one is very important, don’t be shy! When I started, nobody around knew I had a blog. Just one or two individuals knew this fact. I was to scared to share this piece of information.

Don’t be shy, and to talk about your blog mourn you, a lot. Bring it up to your friends, to your family, to strangers you meet out. In sum to everyone you know and don’t know that asks you what you do.

When you are starting, word-of-mouth is one of the key tools to prosper and grow your base following.

Set a goal when starting. I didn’t have any goals when I started, I just knew I wanted start. But that’s not good enough.

Without a target, you can shoot a bullet, but it will never reach it’s destination. So why even shoot?

In the blogging world, things go fast. So be proactive! Get yourself out there, seen and exposed. Talk to people of the same niche as yourself and leave your imprint so that people know who you are, otherwise you will get forgotten.

I started about 6 months ago and by biggest downfall was my inconsistency. It’s very difficult, but I’m getting better.
